Last week I went though the same problems some of you have had with
being unable to import converted mbox files from outlook (via
thunderbird) because they all are unopenable or greyed when trying to
import into Entourage.
I figured out the root cause - the type and creator of those mbox
files were not compatible with entourage import.Seems when you mount a
volume Apple helps by setting files with a compatible type/creator (I
think the creator was entourage, don't recall the type)
Not sure who to blame, Apple for pre-defining the type and creator or
entourage for being picky about what it will accept.
Anyway, the fix I employed was to find a 'type/creator change' action
for automator set it up to process all the files in a folder - there
was many sub folders, this made it a process of just selecting the
root one and run. I had it change the type to TEXT and creator to
UNKN then I fed it the folder couple seconds later and it was easy
sailing from there.
Hope that helps anyone else with such a plight in the future.
