Gaining access to Access

I have Office 97 Professional and just installed it on my new machine that runs XP Home. Today everything works great or so I thought until I went to open Access and was denied saying "Access is not licensed to run on this machine." What's up with that? What can be done to remedy that? I appreciate any help.
