Gannt Bar Formating Question

Rob

I found the below link in these discussion groups and I am trying to
incorporate this into My Project file for the very same reason as discussed
and the below link.

I cannot get this to work at all. I am using Project 2003 and I have
inserted a text column (Text 1) and I directly copy and pasted the below
formula from the below linked discussion. Nothing happened except that the
formula that I placed into the text field shows up but only as straight plain
text.

"w" & Format(DateAdd("d",7-Weekday([Finish]),[Finish]),"ww" & "'yy")

"w" & Format(DateAdd("d",7-Weekday([Finish]),[Finish]),"ww" & "'yy") & " "
& [Resource Names]

http://www.microsoft.com/office/com...ject&mid=9e5daeb2-93f4-438c-bcc5-9227508a17b1

I even tried my own with the below formula - (which is what I want to show);
&[Resource Names] & " - " & [% Complete]

Can someone please help me and explain what I am doing wrong?

Thanks Very Much In Advance,
Rob

Hi Rob,

Project is not Excel!
You can't put formulas in cells.
Formulas are only possible for a field.
Tools, customize, fields, select the fiield you need, click Formula, paste
it there.

Hi Rob,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

You formula &[Resource Names] & " - " & [% Complete] will work if you
remove the first ampersand: [Resource Names] & " - " & [% Complete]

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)
