You can double click on the Timescale header of the gantt chart and change
the Timescale to desired Units, Label and Size. I usuallu use 2 tiers
(Middle and Bottom) and set Yesr and one-letter Months, and Size to 50%.
In the Gantt Chart view there is a vertical line separating the left/right
sides. Drag the line to the right allowing more columns on the left pane to
be visible.
