Gantt chart of all Resources

I would like to know how I can view a Gantt chart of all my resources. I am able to view individual resource if I use the "filtered by resource", but this takes too long when I have to look at every resource in my project. Would someone show me how I can display the Gantt chart of all my individual Resources (at once) sorted by Resource then Start?

Hi,

It depends what exactly you are looking for.
First, beware that some tasks may have more than one assignment - they will
be sorted separately from the ones having just one of the resources.
Secondly, be awore that summary tasks (which normally do not have resoruces
assigned to them) will be sorted in front of all other tasks - best is to go
to Tools, options, view, cross out "Show Summary Tasks"
If you still want to go ahead:

Project
Sort
Sort by..
Fill out Resource Names, and Start in the second selection box
CROSS OUT KEEP OUTLINE STRUCTURE
OK

Apart from showing the tasks graphically, this view does not give more
information than the Resource Usage view sorted by Start.

Thank you Jan! You are right, this basically show me the information in the Resource Usage view

I am relatively new to Project, but I have used VBA in Access before. Can I write a script of some sort to use a for loop to loop through the "Filtered by Resource" View for all Resources? If possible, where would I put this script so I can use it in Project

Rob

Thanks for the pointer. Unfortunately, that's not what I'm looking for

My manager likes the Resource Usage view, but she also wants to see the duration and predecessor fields so that she can manipulate the data better. Unfortunately, the Resource Usage can't see duration/predecessor and the way that Jan had showed me to sort the Gantt chart doesn't look as nice (with all the resources at the outline) as the Resource Usage View. I supposed I'm stuck with this...

Your problem is that a Gantt chart is a task view by definition, not just in
Project but in PM in general, designed to show the flow and schedule of the
work. Tasks have duration but resources have work and work and duration are
two different and distinct measures which is why your manager can't have
what she wants. She's too busy to turn a page???
