Gantt chart- spanning multiple days

Mark

I'm using Visio 2007.
I'm working on a Gantt chart that spans multiple days, using hours as the
duration. When I have 1 task that is over the span of 2 days, the next
linked task always begins at the time that I previously designated to be the
start of the work day, instead of just starting off at the time the previous
task left off. So it looks like that the program is defaulting to the start
of the work day whenever you start off with a new day. Any ideas on how to
start the next task immediately after the last task?

Select the two tasks and then click the link symbol in the Gantt Chart toolbar.

I may have misunderstood your question. So, if your 1st task spans
increments of a complete, 8hr, workday, then the next task will start at the
beginning of the next workday. If you want the next task to begin on the
same day that the previous task ended, then you have to change the start and
end times of the workday such that it spans something like 23 hours. You'll
have to play with it, don't know if you can get a full 24 hours.
Alternatively, you can enter a column, User Defined Time, which ought to let
you set the starting time. Haven't tried it though.
