Well, yes, but you probably won't like the process. There is no built-in
alignment adjustment for Gantt bar text, even in Project 2003. It is
center aligned by default. However, if you are really industrious you
could attach text boxes (drawing toolbar) to each Gantt bar and set the
alignment where you want it.
Now if you REALLY want to be industrious, you could create a custom
field that includes extra spaces either before or after the text you
want to display so that it effectively "aligns" with the start of the
bar. If this were done in VBA you could even make it adaptive based on
the length of the Gantt Bar.
There's almost always a way.
