Gantt Chart View Corruption?

B

I was just wondering if anyone else has had an issue with the Gantt Chart
view as follows:

The black bar of actual work appears to go into the future, despite all of
the numbers in timesheets, resource usage view etc indicating that all actual
work is of course in the past.

I guess its purely aesthetic, but it doesn't help the confidence of our PMs
if the chart is telling them one thing, while the data is showing them
something else. Maybe someone has come across this and knows of a quick fix?

Cheers,

John

John:

Unless you've customized the Gantt chart, you're looking at duration, not
work. With that said, there could be a number of reasons why the progress
bar is pushing into the future. Most typically this indicates that some
actual work is being spread into the future which could be related to task
type. Suffice to say that it would take a lot more specific information from
you to make the determination. It would probably require some analysis of
the plan. For your own edification, apply the task usage view, add actual
work to the grid on the right, and look for work spread into the future. Pay
special attention to tasks defined as fixed-duration. This may lead you to
an explanation.
