Gap in autoarchive items

I have auto archive set to archive after six months. However, I have a gap
in my e-mails between 7/7 and 10/18/04. Those items from 2004 and earlier
never go away. What should I do?

did you import them? Archiving using the last modified date and importing
updates the date.

No, I didn't import them.

did you import them? Archiving using the last modified date and importing
