Gathering Specific Entries

Hi folks,

I have a list of requirements in an Engineering specification that I
need to flowdown to specific groups. The requirements are in a
specific style (called Requirements). I currently gather them into a
big table at the end of the document. This has worked well, but
different groups in our company (test, software, hardware, systems)
would like the requirements list diplayed in a way that would indicate
the requirement applies to them. A requirement may apply to more than
one group. Separate lists for each department would work, but maybe
there are other ways.

Thanks.

Hi biff

I assume that the "big table at the end of the document" is a table of
contents, made up of paragraphs in the Requirements style.

If each requirement only applies to one group, then I would create a style
for each, eg Requirement_Test, Requirement_Software etc. Your main list of
requirements could use all the styles; the list for each group would use its
own style.

But I suspect that a requirement may apply to more than one group. If so, I
would re-write the specs so it's clear what group is responsible for what.
Failing that, I think using TC fields to build up a specific TOC for each
group is the only way.

Hope this helps.
