General Mail Failure When Trying To Send Emails From Excel

"I have been trying to send emails direct from Excel as - Send to / mail
recipient / as Attachment.

Each time I get the message - Action could not be completed.

General Mail failure - Quit Microsoft excel / restart the mail system and
try again.

I have tried this for several days, but cannot email direct. Each time I
need to go to Microsoft outlook and send as an attachment.
