general stencil question

I need to make a diagram of a server rack and I have
questions regarding the proportions of each of the
stencils. Should I be able to find the appropriate rack
we have, and then locate each appropriate server and drag
them onto the rack stencil without having to resize any
of them? I want to make this as true to life as possible
and I am new to the program so I am not sure if you need
to resize any of them or just drag and drop.

If I left out any details that may help, let me know.

Thank you in advance,
Aaron

depends almost entirely on the quality of the stencils that you are working
with. as a general answer (with good quality stencils), yes you should be
able to. The main problem you see in rack diagrams (and their shapes) is
that enough connection points may not have been included in the rack shape
(i.e. where the screw holes are).

I wondered about this. Its almost as if you need to get
all the stencils from the same source (i.e. Netzoom).
Each manufacturer will have their own proportion settings
and what have you. An example is that we have a 45U
Chatsworth rack and when trying to put the Dell servers,
Smart APC, and so on, they do not look right when I get
them adjusted to the width of the rack. The only question
I have left is, are all of the Netzoom stencils made by
them or do they scout out stencils from each of the
manufacturer and thats it or do they modify them to their
liking? Anyone know? Sounds as if I may be SOL in
trying to make this TTL the proper way. :-(

I guess the NetZoom question might be more appropriate for their site. My
experience with them is that the different vendors sometimes don't always
have the same levels of granularity. I believe they do some of them under
contract.
