Generating emails of task assignments to resources

Is there a way, using a macro or something else, to auto generate reports
(say every week) of upcoming task assignments and then automatically email
them using outlook to the resource using the email address in the email field
in the resource sheet? If so, how?

Yep, it's called Project Server! However, my experience is that most people
consider constant emails about assignments as internal spam and either ask
for them to stop or create a rule in Outlook to automatically move them to
the deleted folder.

So first make sure people really, really want them!
