Generic Office Update ?

I am running XP Professional x64, I have only Powerpoint Viewer 2007
installed (no other Office programs). I have begun receiving Microsoft
updates for about a dozen Office updates (even my Belarc Advisor says I
MUST have these installed for security reasons!).

Why am I getting these offerings? And, if I did download them and
attempt to install, would they fail? BTW, one of the updates offered is
"Powerpoint Viewer 2007 Service Pack 1 (SP1)" - and it WON'T install! :)

You are getting these offerings because you have installed the 2007 Powerpoint
Viewer . Just ignore the Updates by marking them hidden.

Rhanks, Peter - I suspected it might be because of Powerpoint. Since
I'm using OpenOffice, which has a slide viewer built-in, I'll just
delete the Powerpoint viewer.
