Generic resources and task assignment

Gaetano Galletta

Hi,
I've got a question about haw to assign generic resources to tasks.

I know that I can create generic resources in Project Server to indicate
generic persons with specific skills.
I will use these resources to build the initial project team and later I
will substitute them with real resources.
BUT:
If I have a task and I want that two ore more "Senior Developer" will work
on that, how can I do? Do I need to create as many generic resources called
"Senior Developer" as we really have in the organization?
I've tried to overallocate the "Senior Developer", but I don't think is the
right way.

Any advice?

Thanks a lot
Gaetano

In the Enterprise Resource Pool, set the Max. Units value to 100% multiplied
by the number of Senior Developers you have. So, for example, if you
actually have eight Senior Developers on your staff, set the Max. Units
value to 800%. Hope this helps.
