Now I'm back to my original problem...can't use Easy Upload to upload my page
(I choose not to pay them to FTP to their server)-getting "invalid file"
error. I even tried importing the page I have posted there already and then
re-uploading it. Anyone have any suggestions for me besides banging my head
against a wall??

I strongly suggest that you not use GeoCities or other Free hosts who often
add a lot of Advertising to your site, which will only drive away your
viewers. I never look at that type of site. Pay for a good ISP!

Eleanor,

What web hosting services do you recommend? The reason I have been using the
free hosting is that I have not been able to train my family and friends to
go to my sites consistently yet. I haven't seen the need to pay for something
that only I look at. I'm not running a business from these sites so being on
search engines, etc is not necessarily a priority.

No, I hadn't tried Charter-we've only had broadband for about 2 weeks and I
wasn't aware I could do that. I suspect they haven't fully enabled all of the
options yet because I can't connect to their FTP server following their
instructions, but I will keep that option open. Thanks for the suggestion.

And I guess it's probably a matter of the cost also. But I'm wondering why
your family and friends can't go to your site. Send them a link in an e-mail
message and tell them to bookmark your page. Where the site is hosted
deosn't matter .... if they can't get to it.
I use a local ISP and get very good service:

my name.

It's not that they can't go to the web sites, it's that they forget! That's
why I said I haven't been able to train them right! If I decide to use the
service you mentioned, I will be sure to tell them that you sent me! =)
