German Spell Checker

I have an iMac OS X.2.8 with Microsoft Office which includes Windows.I
desperatly need the German Spell Checker. Word Help sais: "Turn on or
off German spelling rules: You must enable as an editing language
before you follow these steps.To check the spelling of German text,
you must install the German spelling dictionary, which is available in
ther Microsoft Proofing Tool Kit.
1. On the Word menu, click Preferences, and then click Spelling and
Grammar. 2. Select or clear the Use German post-reform rules check
box.

I am at a total loss. Could somebody please walk me through the steps
1. how do I install the German spelling dictionary.?

The German proofing tools are located on the Office CD in the Value Pack
folder. You'll have to install them from there. You have to be careful
though since many of these tools have been updated in the past few
updates. You might be better of re-installing Office with the proofing
tools and apply all the updates up to 10.1.5. Be careful not to trash
your templates and startup items in the process...


After that, you can create a new document, select all and go to
Tools:Language to specify that you are typing in German.

I'd suggest that you'd get back to the preferneces and create a special
custom dictionary in German.
