Hello
I support a Microsoft SQL Server 2000 database, which has numerous
users accessing the backend data using MS Query in Excel. The problem
is that from time to time this causes a lock on the database which
blocks all the other users.
I'm working on a solution which prevents the users from accessing the
system using Query, however I would like to know if it is possible to
change the lock type which MS Query puts on the tables being queryed.
I'd like the lock to be read-only non committed.
Any advice or ideas?
Many many thanks
