Get icon to show only in specific view

Is there a way in OL2003 to put an icon on the icon bar in one view (tasks)
and not have it show in another view (contacts)? I would like to do this
both for some of the built in icons and also for several macros that I have
created that only apply to a specific view.

I was able to do this in a much older version of OL.
