Get information from one sheet to another

I have two data sources and I'm dumping one source onto sheet1 and the other
onto sheet2. I have a common id that is unique in each sheet in column B in
each sheet). Sheet1 has all my active and correct id's. Sheet2 has ALL id's
wheather they are active or not and also has a value in column BC) I need to
fill onto sheet1 somewhere beside the active id. How do I get the value from
sheet2 over to sheet1?

Use VLOOKUP..Refer help

In Sheet1..with unique id in B2...you can try this formula in any of the
free cells in row 2.
=VLOOKUP(B2,Sheet2!B$1:BC$1000,54,0)
