Get Mail Merge Toolbar automatically when merging (word 2002) ?

Word 2K used to give me the Mail merge tool bar automatically when I
opened a document that used mail merge. In Word 2.2, I have to
manually turn it on and off if I want to see it.

Any way to get it to work automatically again?
