Get Previous Section from Word Template

Hi

Ive got a word (97) template which is split up into sections (A - Z).
Ive got a macro that will create a new sub section where the cursor is
- so if the cursor is in section N then it will create subsection N1.

However the subsection heading defaults to A1. (The headings are styles
containing outline numbering)

What im trying to do is to figure out the section heading (eg N) so
that I can place it the create sub section macro.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

then it will create subsection N1.
So you seem very well to know in what section your are.
What im trying to do is to figure out the section
heading (eg N).

The section headings are automatically generated by word (a style
connected to an outline numbered bullets and numbering). So every time
I add a main section it will become the next letter in the alphabet.

eg - this is like what im trying to achieve
Section Heading = Section A
Insert new section
New Section Heading = Section B
Insert new subsection
New subsection heading = Sub-Section B1
Insert new section
New section heading = Section C

When I add a subsection the heading doesn't not seem to realise what
letter it should be and defaults to 'A'

eg
Section Heading = Section A
Insert new section
New Section Heading = Section B
Insert new subsection
New subsection heading = Sub-Section A1 (should be Sub-Section B1)
