get rid of drop down for some fields on subform

How can I turn OFF the drop-down for the field names in the subform - I am
using 2007 - it puts the drop down for everyfield and takes up too much space?

If you're seeing drop-downs on what should be normal text fields, it sounds
as though you've invoked that cursed "Lookup Field" misfreature in Access.

Either change the fields back to normal fields, or base the form on a query
that joins the table to all of the related tables.

the fields on the form in Design view are not drop-down/lookup - they are
column headings in the subform(datasheetview) and show as dropdowns in form
view ONLY almost like when you turn on autofilter in Excel(they show Filter
options)
I have a feeling there is somewhere on the entire form properties or field
properties where I can turn these off??????

You may have misunderstood my comments.

If you open the table (as opposed to a form based on the table), do you see
drop downs?

yes when just looking at the Table they have the Drop Down- weird. None of
the data types are Lookup though and when I go down behind design view at the
bottom area properties - and hit Lookup Tab -it just says text box, etc. no
combo box

Afraid I can't offer any explanation as to why they're showing up as Lookup
Fields, but if they are, what's actually being stored in the table isn't
what you think is being stored there.

saved it as ver2003 and opened it with 2003 and NO Dropdown -
do you have a clue what the setting in 2007 would make it show up as
dropdown(autofilter-like) in the table???

I wonder if you're somehow opening the form in "Filter by Form" mode?

All tables in All Databases in 2007 have the Drop-down list - it just takes
up more room and chops off field name at top when have lots of fields to show.
wonder in 2007 how can turn this off???
