Get rid of logonscreens

G

Ger

Hi all,

How to get rid of the logonscreens, when a user clicked Fill in this Form or
Edit one on a SharePoint site. The user has sufficient rights (I tested it
even with administrator's rights).
The user has normally logged in via SharePoint and that is enough.

Help is appreciated, Ger.

Thanks Agni for answering,

I added the SharePoint site to the trusted sites and checked the Save
Password checkbox. The only difference with the last time is, that the
loginscreens mention the user name and the password, but i still have to
click on OK (I want to get rid of these (and my users too)).

Any ideas ?

Ger.

Hi Ger,

You are opening an InfoPath form from a Sharepoint site...correct? Can you
share the exact text of each screen you see?

Thanks!

Hi Scott,

First, When I try to connect to the SharePoint site (from the LAN via
http://<sitename>) I got a loginscreen, called "Connect to <sitename>".
Username and Password has been filled in already (see before) and checkbox
Remember my password has been checked. I click OK and I am on the SharePoint
site.

When I click Fill out this form I got the same loginscreen, so called
"Connect to <sitename>". Username and Password has been filled in already and
checkbox Remember my password has been checked. So it is exact the same
loginscreen. I want to get rid of this second loginscreen and dont want to
see any loginscreen on this site anymore as long as I (or my user) stay on
this site.

Am I clear enough? If not, donot hesitate to ask more information.

Hi Ger,

Thank you for the updated information.

To a certain extent, this may be expected as this is not typically an
"InfoPath" behavior per sé but an Office behavior. For instance, if you
have a Word document on a site that requires credentials, there is no way
for Word to know that you passed credentials to IE so you will get a
secondary prompt. The following Knowledge Base article discusses this in
great detail:

838028: How documents are opened from a Web site in Office 2003
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;838028

However, as it sounds like you are on an internal LAN I have a couple of
additional questions:

- What behavior do you see if your site is added as a "Trusted Site?"
- If you launch IE, choose Internet Options from the Tools menu, select the
Security tab, highlight Local Internet and click the Custom Level button,
what do you have for the "User Authentication" setting (at the bottom?) If
this is not set to Automatic logon with current username and password, what
happens if you enable this setting, close all instances of IE and test
again?

Thanks Ger,

Thanks Scott for attention,

The SharePoint site had already been added to Trusted Sites, same result.
"Automatic logon with current username and password" checked, same result.

Thanks Ger,

Is this an "HTTP" or "HTPS" site?

Hi Patrick,

I am not sure where I "recommended" to set it to "trusted" - I merely
wanted to see if there was any difference in behavior if the "site" was
added to the "Trusted Sites" zone...which I apparently missed this
information in a previous note from Ger.
