get rid of moved messages

I just moved a whole slew of messages from a listserv to a special folder and
created a rule to move all incoming messages from this listserv to the new
folder. The problem is that the messages I've moved from the inbox remain
there but now have strikethroughs through them. I really hope there's a way
to remove them from the inbox as the whole point of creating the new folder
was to get rid of the clutter in my inbox, and this has actually made it
worse! I'm using Outlook 2003, SP2, and I would really appreciate any help
anyone can provide. Thanks!

Oops, I spoke too soon: as new messages come in and are moved to the folder,
they are still shown with a strikethrough in the main inbox. Is there any way
to have the purging of deleted messages happen continuously and automatically
rather than having to do it every time I get new messages from that listserv?

Currently I don't have an IMAP configured in Outlook 2003 but I believe
"Purge on folder change" for deleted items of IMAP accounts is a new option
in Outlook 2007.

So my only option is to wait for Outlook 2007? Bummer. When is it coming out,
do you know?
