Hi Folks,

I'm trying to get rid of the reference to the Normal template in a template
I created and have the new template attach itself to each new document
created by it. can this be done and whats the best way to do it??

Cheers

no can do the normal bit. Every template ALWAYS attaches itself to the
documents it creates.

G'day "johnnybhoy" <[email protected]>,

it depends what you base the template on when you create it. However,
you need to be ULTRA CAREFUL if doing this, because if the "based on"
template isnt present on their installation you will gen spurious
errors with an unresolved reference throwing out any reference
attempts.

I would create a dummy template with your final name, then base your
new template on that. As it never resolves the reference to any
utility if its a template, the self-reference shouldn't cause any
problems whilst avoiding the template missing problems.

Hi Steve,

Problem is that the documents created by my template (which has custom
toolbars and code behind it) do not show the toolbars and also have the
template code behind ThisDocument which I beleive should not happen right?

I have sample templates from someone else that do not have a reference to
Normal in them and wanted to know how this was done?

Cheers
