get syllables from any text

Herve cadieu

Hi dear all,

I would like to sort out the syllables from any text with some vb add-in ,
does anyone know if somethng exist already ? Or can some of you give me some
advise on the right path to achieve that ? I would like to be able to count
syllables for example to assist the poetry making.
\knowing the number of syllables in the current sentence and if close to
the end of a line proposing in an intellisense manner possibles words to end
the sentence with a rime .

So first of all I would like being able to split syllables from any word
and sentence automatically and programmatically. How to proceed ? Have any of
you a sample code snippet in VB ?
Thank in advance

As far as I am aware, you cannot use Word to split words in their syllables.

There may be something twisted that can be achieved with hyphenation, but it
would be complicated and very slow, if possible at all.

Hi Hervé,

Easier said than done. But search groups.google.com for
insubject:"what is a syllable"
and
insubject:"how to count number of syllables in a word"
