GetCrossReferenceItems List does not match InsertCrossReference List

Hi,

Env: Word 2003, ...

This is a well-known problem. When using the Method
InsertCrossReference, wdRefTypeNumberedItem, the list include the
bulleted lists, but the method GetCrossReferenceItems does not include
them.

What I tried to do is:
1. building a list with GetCrossReferenceItems
2. make the user select an item from this list
3. getting the index of the element
4. using this index in the InsertCrossReference method.

This works, as long as there are no bulleted list in the document!
I am falling short of ideas. I tried using Sendkeys with
wdDialogInsertCrossReference, but I can't select an item in the list
(list looking like the product of GetCrossReferenceItems).

Well, is there a way to do overcome this problem?
