Getting £ to merge from Excel to Word

D

I'm working with Office XP. When merging data from Excel
into a Word mail merge - everything comes accross fine,
text, numbers and decimal places, but not the £ sign. The
cells in Excel are correctly formatted for currency and
are displaying the £ sign as one would expect. I'm stumped.

Can anyone help?

Hi Don,

Excel does not store the data with that format. To get it displayed as
currency in Word, press Alt+F9 in the mailmerge main document to toggle on
the field codes and add the following switch inside the closing } of the
currency mergefield

\# "£,#.00"

Use Alt+F9 again to toggle off the codes and then execute the merge.

Please post any further questions or followup to the newsgroups for the
benefit of others who may be interested. Unsolicited questions forwarded
directly to me will only be answered on a paid consulting basis.

Hope this helps
