Getting blue screen 0x0000008E after 2003 upgrade & SP2 update

Upgraded office desktops with Professional Office 2003 running XP. Did the
Office updates which included SP2. Leave computer @ desktop; come back &
there's a blue screen 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0xF734C8B2, 0xA9BB57C4,
0x00000000) Ntfs.sys - address F734C8B2 base at F734C000, Datestamp 41107eea

I've uninstalled Office 2003, reinstalled it, flashed the bios; on some
machines, it only happens once; on others, its happened 9-12 times. Help!
