Getting Compile Errors on Program Startup

Hi Group,

I recently had to get a new motherboard and reinstall my WinXP OS. This
resulted in having to reinstall most of my programs, including Office. I
previously had Office 2000. After the OS reinstall I upgraded to Office XP
Developer, mainly because it included FrontPage 2002 and Ofc XP does not.
FrontPage works fine, as does Access and PowerPoint. But Word and Excel are
giving me errors on launch and close. After closing out the error screen the
programs seem to run fine. When closing the programs the same error appears
again, I exit the error screen and the program closes. Very strange.

The Word error says:
MICROSOFT VISUAL BASIC
"Compile error in hidden module. AutoExec" [OK] [HELP]

When I click on help, it gives an explanation that I don't understand. It
goes something like this:

----------------

"Compile error in hidden module: <module name>

A protected module can't be displayed. This error has the following cause
and solution:

There is a compilation error in the code of the specified module, but it
can't be displayed because the project is protected.
Unprotect the project, and then run the code again to view the error.

For additional information, select the item in question and press F1(in
Windows) or HELP (on the Macintosh).

--------------

I'm not sure what "Project" needs to be "Unprotected"?? I just installed the
program. The error that Excel gives is identical except it says"

"Compile error in hidden module. AutoExecNew"

Does anyone have a clue what the problem is and how to correct this? I'd
really like to avoid reinstalling again as I just got FrontPage setup the
way I want it.

Any help is more than appreciated.
