Getting Error 100

Yesterday I was creating an architecture diagram using Visio 2000, when
one of the power chords decided to do a thing of its own and cut off
the power to the machine. I left for home after that. Today when I
tried to open the same file I get Error 100 which says that this is not
a Visio file!!!!

I tried to search on Google, and the first result that I got was the
address support.microsoft.com/ default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q278261,
which asks me to download a post-Visio 2000 SR-1 fix, which I did. I
installed it and to my horror, it also stopped other Visio files from
opening up. The system turned slow when accesing any Visio file. So I
called the office helpdesk, they did something and then told me that
yesterday's file had been corrupted. After that I can still access
other Visio files, but the one I created yesterday still gives me the
same result. I'm running Windows 2000 on my machine.

Thanks in advance

Don't bother answering.....I read other mails from othe people who had
the same problem, on this forum. So I guess I will go back to the
drawing board.

But still......why did all visio files stop opening when I downloaded
that patch or whatever it was from the Microsoft website? Now that
other files are opening up fine, should I uninstall it....or would it
help in the future if I get the error 100?

Thanks in advance
