Getting error when try open files in all the Office 2003

When I try to open files in Office 2003 applications, I get an Open Not
Responding message and about 3-4 minutes later the file finally opens. Do
you have any solution other than reinstalling Office for this.

Is it a Windows XP problem or an Office 2003 problem? Thanks!

Did you just install Office 2003?
If so, is it an upgrade?

Did this just start happening and it worked fine before?
If so, what did you change?

Are you on a network?
If so:
Are the files local or on the network?
Are your application files installed locally?
What is your networking software?
Operating System?

Right-click on the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop,
left-click on Disconnect Network Drive, and disconnect any mapped
drives that are not currently available.
