getting NAVW32.exe Appication error while opening any office program

Hello, I have an ongoing problem that I cannot solve. I am
not sure what is happening but when I start up Microsoft
Word from office XP I get the following
message: "NAVW32.exe Appication error The instruction at
0x01481408 referenced memory at 0x014a0004 The memory
could not be read. Click on OK to terminate the program."
(I also get the exact same error message when I right
click any file (not just word files) and choose "Scan with
Norton AV") Then when I click "OK" I get the
following: "Norton Antivirus The document C:\Documents and
Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Microsoft\
Templates\Normal.dot is still infected. Do you want to
delete this file? YES NO" If I choose YES nothing happens
and MS Word starts up normally. If I choose NO I get the
same normal startup of MS Word. I have un-installed
Microsoft Office XP, ran scan disk and cleanup removed the
registry references as best I could and then reinstalled
Office.

There has been a problem with a recent Norton update, which apparently
usually has the effect of causing MS files to open v.slowly - see Symantec
for details - its possible that you have found another problem/symptom
