Getting Rid Of Blank Page

Version: 2004
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

When I open a particular document it brings up an empty second page. Everything is written on the first page but for some reason it includes an empty second page. How do I get rid of that empty second page?

Clive, thanks for your reply. I was able to get rid of the second page but I can't get rid of the backward Paragraph marks on the first page without erasing the text. Deleting them doesn't work.
what can I do?
