Getting Rid Of Columns Or Boxes When Opening An older Document ?

R

Robert11

Hello:

Always something new, I guess.

When I open up an older Word document, not all of them-just some, the page
has
a grid or columns superimposed in light grey.

Also happens when opening a new blank page for a new document that I want
to create.

If I click on the Dwg Bar on the bottom left where it says "Normal View" it
goes away.

But it reopens like this the next time.

Something, somewhere, obviousl;y changed.

How do I reset things so it opens up normally each time, without these
columns or boxes ?

Thanks,
B.

Hi Robert,

I use Word 2003. On the drawing toolbar when you click the Draw button
and select "Grid", a dialogue box will come up and show an option to
display gridlines on screen. If this box is ticked, then the gridlines
will appear in Print Layout view. If you uncheck that box, they should
disappear.

Not sure if this will work, but perhaps worth a try?

Best of luck with this!

Karen
