Getting rid of helps

Sometime, when I make changes, a small box appears. It has a line at the top
with what looks like a lightening bolt coming down from it. If I put my
cursor on it, it expands to show a drop down arrow. I find these things
extremely irratating and would love to get rid of them. How do I do that?
How do I shut them off?

Tools | AutoCorrect Options. Clear the check box for "Show AutoCorrect
Options buttons."
