Getting rid of pdf toolbar

D

Dany Adams

Word Ver 11.5.3 running on OSX 10.4.11

When I open Word, the customized toolbars I want are there, but so is the
pdf toolbar. Is there a way to prevent that toolbar from appearing ?
Thanks.

I don't see it on mine but you go to edit menu and choose tool bars if
if its listed should say something about PDF. if you find that uncheck
it. It doesn't work correctly any way.

Now I remember how to permanently get rig of it. shut down Word. and
acrobat or Reader. Locate the PDF item (look for exact name in customize
menu of word).

Now go to Finder and look up the item in Find file. Now copy the exact name.

now create a blank folder. Now go to where the PDF item is. Move it to
Trash and the folder to where the item came from. empty trash.

Now open Acrobat the PDFWriter menu item should be gone. And Word and
Acrobat can not repair it. because on Mac a folder can't be overwritten
by a file.

well I had the basic idea write. I haven't had to do it in years so the
details are fuzzy. and at 60 the old brain cells don't work as good :)
