Getting rid of the Security Warning in 2003

Tony Feole

Hello,

Recently I started working with Access 2003. The Security Warning that prompts when opening a file is getting old real fast. I have followed the instructions to set the Macro security to low but there is no Security under Tools -> Macros -> Security. Has anyone else experienced this before? Any help would be much appreciated.

Hum, I can simply go:

tools->Macro->Security.

I am given 3 options, and selecting low eliminates the prompts.

it is possible that you don't have jet sp8 installed on your pc. I would
consider trying that.....

As a side note..I can even set the above on the runtime version. So, about
the only thing I can think of is you don't have jetsp8 installed.

You may have to reset the menu bar to get the security menu item.
Right-click the menu bar, choose Customize, then Toolbars. Select Menu Bar,
then Reset. Unfortunately, this does mean that you will lose any
customizations you may have made to the menu bar.

I *think* this only happens if you upgrade to Access 2003 from an earlier
version. I *think* the Security menu item is displayed by default after a
clean install.

That's what I thought too, but I just did a clean install of 2003 - the
security item wasn't there; had to reset the Menu Bar.
