Getting rid of unused Enterprise Text1 field on Project Info dialog box???

In the Enterprise Global, I accidentally created an Enterprise Project
Text field in the "Text1" bucket, then realized it needed to be an
Outline Code.

After creating the outline code, renaming the Enterprise Project Text1
field back to the "default", saving the Enterprise Global once again,
and re-opening MS Project 2003 Pro, "Enterprise Project Text1" STILL
shows up as a custom field within the "Project Information" dialog box.

Can someone please tell me how to take this off the list and return to
unused status?

Thanks,

Make sure you have set all the defaults back.
If you had value lists, clear them all out. It is not enough to just toggle
back to None.
If you had a formula, clear it out. It is not enough to just toggle back to
None.
If you had any graphical indicators delete them as well.
To reset the custom field name you must hit the Rename button and clear out
all the custom name text?

Andy:

A quick way is to open the Enterprise Global, go to Tools > Organizer and
select the fields tab. On the Checked Out Enterprise Global side of the
dialog, remove the customized field. Close the dialog and save and close the
Global. Exit and restart Project. This will clear all traces of the field.

Hi Gary,

I have a similar problem but with a non-enterprise level Custom Text field.
I cannot delete it. I have tried clearing out any formulas and value lists
present and it will look like their gone when I save the project. But when I
close and re-open all the values come back.

I have tried removing it via the Organizer as well. Same result. Looks okay
until you close and re-open.

Any ideas?

Regards,
Brad
