Getting rid of unwanted lines

Hello,

I am a graduate student and found a cool tool use the period button to add a
line to seperate my weekly assignment. The problem is I cannot get rid of the
line.

I have tried remove formatting from word with no effect. The line does not
show up when I show codes. My cool tool is making my papers look horrible.
Could you please help.

If you want to use a line of periods as a separator, you can (a) disable the
automatic borders (as explained in the referenced article), (b) quickly
press Undo as soon as the AutoFormat is performed, or (c) (the option I
prefer) define a style that has a right-aligned tab stop at the right margin
and a period leader; apply the style and press Tab once to insert a line of
periods. You could also save a line of periods as an AutoText entry.
