Getting spouse title in envelope addresses.

Simon

My mom is trying to print up some envelopes and is using
mail merge with Outlook contacts. When adding the address
block, she selects the "Mr. and Mrs. Joshua Something
Jr." format, but it fails to add the "Mrs." part to any
of the generated addresses. She has made sure to have the
spouse name filled out, but still no luck.

Any advice? She's using Office XP.

Thanks,
Simon

The problem is is probably that Outlook does not actually have a field for
the Spouse's title, and the Addressblock field is expecting the title to
come from a field in the data source. In other words, the addressblock field
does /not/ work by just adding "And Mrs.". If you do have a field in Outlook
that contains the spouse's title, you need to click the "Match Fields"
button in the Insert Address Block dialog box(or get to the Match fields
dialog some other way) and select the field name you are using for the
Spouse's title next to "Spouse Courtesy Title" near the bottom of the
"Optional Information" section. If you always want to insert the literal
text "and Mrs" whenever there is something in the Spouse field, I can't see
a way to do this within the ADDRESSBLOCK field and you would need to
consider inserting the individual fields and some IF fields to deal with
addresses with/without text in the Spouse field.
