Getting Started

I have just installed MS Office 2007 Groove and am trying to get going.

My first problem is that I cannot add contacts!!

1. Using the Add Contacts option from the menu bar gives me a window in
which I can either type in a name of an e-mail address that Groove then trys
to find. Not sure where it's looking but the search stops without it finding
a fit and so nothing to add there.
2. Inviting a user to a workspace also presents a window with the same
options but htis time it indicates it is searching in Outlook, which is where
I keep all my current contact info but unfortunately the search never
concludes and I have to terminate it which result in the same lack of any one
to add.

I thought it would be tightly coupled with Outlook and allow access to
contacvt there for inviting to workspaces but if it is I can't work it out.

So.....how do you add a contact into Groove?

Hi Ian,

If you select the "Include Public Groove Directory" check box at the
top-right area of the search window, do you receive any results? You have to
remember if you search for a Groove contact by their email address, that user
has to be a member of Groove already, AND chosen to publish their full
contact information to the Public Groove directory.

Another option is to have your colleagues send you their Groove vcards
through email so you may add them to your contacts list and then send them
invitations and instant messages.

If you send an invitation to an email address, Groove will send an email to
that address containing an invitation file for that workspace.
