getting system font to work in word 2002

i have the gil sans fonts (8 total) loaded on my computer. someone has
emailed me a word doc using this font series however all 8 fonts are not
showing up in word therefore changing the formatting. only 5 of the 8 fonts
are in word. any suggestions how to correct this?

These 8 font files:

- what type? TrueType files (*.ttf)?
- they are all showing up in your "Fonts" folder?
- are they different "strenghts" only, or are some also for italics, for
instance?
- which are not showing up?
