Hi
I'm using Word 2003 with an XP pro machine, and I have the strangest
thing going on.

I'm working on a chapter of my thesis, and I was trying to figure out
why my figure 2-3 was being labeled as 2-4 in the caption, even when I
waas trying to "update field".

When I perform "Insert- Reference- Cross Reference" however, I see
that there are indeed two tables which neither belong to this chapter,
nor have they ever been entered into this chapter, as figures 2-3 and
2-5.

I have tried everything i can think of to try to rid myself of the
offending "references" but I can't find them.

I tried deleting the entire chapter after the last good caption and
trying again, so to speak, but they still appear.

Help :(

Thanks,

Machelle
