Ghost Footnote can't get rid of ruining other notes

M

MURGY

Title says all. When I go into normal view and look at
footnote page I see a blank line where the troublesome
footnote is. I can't get rid of a blank line and it
shows up on my paper as a footnote that ciphons in all
subsequent notes as I delete them one by one from this
place holder. HELP. PLEASE. MY THESIS IS DUE TOMORROW.

Hi Murgy,

You seem to have deleted the footnote in the footnote area.
You should always delete the footnote reference in the text (but most of us
have learned that the hard way).

To find the footnote reference in the text, go into the empty footnote
paragraph, and hit Alt+Ctrl+F.
This command (InsertFootnoteNow) should take you from the footnote straight
back to the footnote reference it belongs to.
Then you can delete that stray footnote reference.

You can use the same shortcut Alt+Ctrl+F to insert footnotes in the text...
it's quite handy.

Greetings,
Klaus
