gif anim won't work

P

Pam

ok...I'm so frustrated!!! I'm using fp2003 and I had a gif animation that
worked fine at http://www.elkhornalpacas.com - it's the treasure chest and
it had sparklies that would go off and on for the gems - all of hte sudden
it quit working - so I took it off...made sure it worked in corel pp - tried
it out in preview in fp and looks good - works fine - even sent it to me in
an email - works fine - but when I publish it ... no sparkles... EEHHHHHH

can someone help? could it be something to do with the authoring tool?

thanks!
Pam

This was asked an replied to the other day when you posted it.

The animation is working just fine.

Perhaps you need to check your browser settings to make sure it allows
animation.

Hi Pam,

GIF images don't stop working. I loaded your page, and it worked just fine.
Perhaps if you tell us more about the circumstances under which it didn't
work, we can help more. For example, a GIF will stop animating once you
click a hyperlink. GIFs won't animate in FrontPage, but they will in a
browser.

I'm sorry - didn't realize I had posted this before ... and this is too
weird - it doesn't work for my friend either! It works in fp preview - but
when I look on the web, it doesn't - this is too weird....I've set my
browser IE 6 back to the defaults on internet options/advanced - still
doesn't 'sparkle ' LOL

simply put - it works in preview pane in FP 2003 - not in browser

Pam

sigh....nope...still doesn't work

I give up - if you all guys can see it - I'm just going to act like I see it
:)

Could be your firewall blocking animations?

Zone Alarm (as one example) can block these animations - especially if you
are blocking animated advertisments - it might try too hard and block
legitimate animations as well. (It is under the Privacy > Ad Blocking
options).

I see the animation now.....but I had to add your site to my "Privacy" list
in my firewall and allow Web Bugs, Prviate Header and Mobile Code options.

OH YOU ARE SO SMART!!! LOL...I do have ZA and went in and went to
Privacy/Adblocking/ and then unchecked animation ... BINGO! sparkles! LOL

gota love it
