Gif format clipart not animate at my powerpoint 97

When I insert a gif format clipart in my powerpoint 97 and play the slide
show, there is no animation (just not move). Can somebody help?

Can I insert slides from another file and keep the design of the slides
(i.e. two different design in one powerpoint file?

Animated GIFs can only be played in PowerPoint 2000 and newer. If you only
need to show the presentation, you might download PowerPoint Viewer 2003 or
2007 an use that.

As well as what Ute said I'm afraid that you cannot have multiple masters (
and therefore mutiple designs) in PPT 97. You may be able to fake it by
copying everything on a master and pasting into slides as a background.
