.gif's and outlook 2003

Hello all, my client receives email with /gif attachments. When they save
them to the hard drive then right click and choose preview with windows fax
viewer, no preview message displays.If they forward the email with the
attachment to another pc.save the attached .gif's on a usb key,walk back to
the problem pc, presto they can preview it. Xp pro with SP3, all up to date.
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated

Which method of saving do you use?
Is it an attachment or an embedded picture?
Does it animate in Internet Explorer?

Thanks for responding. It's an attachment. I am not sure, would I have to
choose open with internet explorer to be able to answer your question.

Yes, you can directly open a gif-file in Internet Explorer.

OK , I tried openong it with internet explorer. NO GO, I then took thid
email, forwarded to my home email, I'm runnung XP Pro SP3, office 2003 Pro
SP3, without even saving the attachment to my pc, I double clicked on it,
and it opened on it'sown with internet explorer, As I have said, if I walk
back to the problem pc with a usb key with the attachment, I can preview it
with win fax viewer, but when I save the original attachment from the email
on the problem PC, no view is availbale.
