Given Unknown error when trying to view certain folders

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel Email Client: pop I can log in and run entourage.Error does not cause restart or crash, but cannot view contents of certain folders.

The ³unknown error² is most likely a system error and can indicate disk
problems. Use Disk Utility to run Verify Disk. To repair you will need to
boot from a different drive or your install CD.

It might be prudent to run the Apple Hardware tests. In Google, search type
in "run Apple Hardware test Intel" for exact instructions.

The exact instructions change with machine types etc. but basically you need
one of the original CDs that came with your computer that contains the test.
You hold down the "D" or "C" key when starting up to activate the test.
